Dietary Changes? - Ananiujitha - 09-28-2017 Has anyone tried dietary changes to help with sensory issues? I think some our sensory issues are innate differences, but some may be due to different nutritional needs, allergies/sensitivities, exposure, and/or chronic illness such as fibromyalgia. nutritional needs: I have read that autistics, like me, tend to have low cobalamin levels, and that the body has an easier time using methylcobalamin than ordinary cyanocobalamin. Do other sensory people also tend to have low cobalamin levels? I am considering taking methylcobalamin. exposure: I used to drink a lot of tea, but it turns out tea and other salicylates can cause tinnitus and worsen hyperacusis. And quitting tea and cutting back on other salicylates has cured my tinnitus and seems to help with my hyperacusis. chronic illness: I have read that high-dose thiamine can help with fibromyalgia and some other neurological issues. I took thiamine mononitrate, and got migraines from it, but I am considering taking thiamine hydrochloride instead.
