Finding my spiritual core.
So, here are the foundations of my newfound faith. Take note that I have not subscribed to any organized religion.
1 - There is a God, a higher power of creation, and this God has plans for everybody on the planet who chooses to embrace them.
2 - Everybody is one of God's creations, so hating another is an act against God, no matter how far away from God's path that person may be.
3 - I really do not know what plans this God has for me. No man can rightly claim to have that knowledge. Any man who does make that claim to know God's thoughts is wrong.
4 - I should not ask God to improve my life (because God does not work that way), but instead ask for the strength to do so myself, as well as the strength to be a helpful hand to all of those around me who seriously want help in building themselves up.
5 - Faith in God should not be about what God can give to you. It should be about how one can rely on him for the strength and the power to make the world a better place for people to live in. It demands rigorous honesty. It demands giving of oneself to others who are open to it. It demands giving up resentments, hatred against others, self-pity.
6 - Conversion to faith in a higher power should come from within oneself. It should never be forced down the throat of another, under any circumstances. That way just does not work.
This is the code I will live by. Granted, there probably will be more added to this as I figure more things out. But for now, this is how I will go about taking action on my faith. It won't work unless I dive in headfirst, after all.
